GM extends military discounts to recent veterans
It's just one of the efforts by corporate America to recognize vets. The Pennzoil brand of motor oil, for instance, is doing its part by donating three Dodge vehicles retrofitted to accommodate paralyzed veterans.
GM's effort certainly has the wider impact. It previously only offered its military discount to active duty service members, reservists, retired service members and their spouses. Now it is extended to veterans within a year after discharge.
The savings can be substantial. When all discounts are applied, GM says on its military deal website that a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup is eligible for a discount that adds up to $3,770. Or they can take $1,257 off a new Chevrolet Camaro.
"We wanted to accommodate the large numbers of returning veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan and the impending draw down of service members from all branches,[url=http://www.fcgeo.ca]Ugg Canada[/url]," said Linda Stouffer, GM marketing manager for vehicle purchase programs, in a statement.
